How do I find a party? (sh.itjust.works)

I'd like to play dnd way more than I do now, as my current party is bearly availabe (I'm talking like 2 sessions a year).

I know the obv that I should just look for ppl, let me tell you, it's well known between my friends that I play (at least would like to) dnd, none of them are interested.

Anyways, is there a site or some event where dnd players go and meet or post a "looking for players at xyz city" flyers. Maybe online parties, not the best ik, but I take what I can get..

Thanks for any help, or tips on how to spot a dnd player in the wild!

If there is a local game store in a city nearby, you'll likely find people, who are looking to play.

there are bunch, I saw ppl play smth in two(? maybe) already, but isn't it extreamly wierd to just walk up to a random friendgroup and ask if I could join, especially because dnd needs prep.

I'm not saying this because anxiety, but I'd most certianly turn someone down who just appeared out of nowhere, STRANGER DANGER!

Should I ask the staff, do they handle this sorta thing? Should I put out flyers like on random trees?

I'm sry for spam, but like wdym I can just find ppl at stores?

Talk with the staff or check their web page. They probably have open games or adventurers league games you could join.

I got my party together through a Discord chat that someone made for anyone living in our city. You should see if they have one where you live. It's a great way to meet people for gaming and otherwise

I live in a capital, so I'd imagine it's harder for me, but I'll try my luck in searching for a server.

Reddit has some resources if your willing to play virtually.

While I recognize it's not for everyone, online D&D can be just as fun as in person. I've been playing twice a week with my group that I've been playing with for almost two years. Of course, not every group you get into is immediately the right fit, I think I got quite lucky as it was my third group I got into.

There are various websites to play. Personally, I use Roll20. While I recognize it has flaws, it is still pretty decent overall, and a free account gives you all the necessary functionality to play. Even GM's can just use a free account if they manage their resources well.
