From this patch onward, gliding will be performed using a glider rather than with Pals. Pals in the player's team will still provide passive buffs to gliding, but players will now need to have a glider in their inventory in order to glide.

I don't play this game, but it is a sad day when Nintendo bullies a game into making changes

I’ve been a fan of Nintendo since the nes days. But their anti consumer behavior is too much. I haven’t bought anything from them in years, and I don’t think I ever will again.

i am the exact same way. they've been so shitty that they have convinced me not to ever buy their stuff again.

Wish every MMO to ever have flying mounts would sue the fuck out of Nintendo over this, as Nintendo claiming they invented that shit is fucked up.

Fuck Nintendo. Someone should explain it to them Luigi Mangione style.

How? Nintendo don't own flying mounts surely. WoW did that ages ago and I am sure other games have as well.

Well, the mechanic is not a mount in the usual sense, but holding a flying Pal, as in you're not saddling it but holding it and letting it slowly glide down.

Sooooo, what Ocarina of Time did in 1996?

[-] rikudou@lemmings.world 3 points 1 month ago

Which might be the exact reason, given it's created by Nintendo?

[-] JakenVeina@lemm.ee 1 points 1 month ago

No, the patent involved is specifically covering Pokemon. Legends: Arceus, in particular, IIRC.

That might be true, but my point was you cannot say someone did the mechanic earlier if it's the same company.
