What exactly is Bonfire? They themselves just call it "social networking" which is so vague. Is it microblogging?

Im having a real hard time wrapping my head around bondfire. It would be nice to have a standard library for activityhub in python (or other languages).
A community to talk about the Fediverse and all it's related services using ActivityPub (Mastodon, Lemmy, KBin, etc).
