What is "me"/"mich"/"moi" in dutch?

[-] Kualdir@feddit.nl 7 points 1 month ago

I believe you're looking for "ik"?

ikiks 💀

[-] CyberEgg@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 1 month ago

Maybe, I don't know. That's why I ask.

At !ich_iel@feddit.org we call memes "Michmichs" because me = mich in German.

[-] gerryflap@feddit.nl 4 points 1 month ago

Yeah "ikiks" wouldn't really work haha. "Mijmijs"? Idk at R*ddit people used "meems" in the Dutchs communities. Sounds logical to me, it's a Dutch sounding word that believably could be "meme" in english. Just like "name" is "naam" in Dutch.

Mijmijs is not too bad

Ambachtelijke memerijen. Echt handwerk.

[-] madjo@feddit.nl 2 points 1 month ago

And using "MeMes" ("me", "mij", "mijn") isn't funny enough.

[-] sykaster@feddit.nl 2 points 1 month ago

The official accepted in the Dutch community is memerijen, liberally translated at memeries

[-] gerryflap@feddit.nl 2 points 1 month ago

I can live with that haha. Memerijen sounds like the more formal word. But it's also silly so it's okay

Ieuw, toch geen Mémé zeker

I have no idea what this means but I'm 100% for it

"Dude check this; they're posting non-English memes on Lemmy". It's a picture of our king and former prime minister watching something funny instead of paying attention to the serious (UN?) meeting they're in
