Why?

Based on the quotes in the article, there's nothing controversial that he's done.

Based on the quotes in the article

“Eddington” indeed takes shots at both sides of the aisle, roasting liberal posturing in the form of social justice youth like Sarah (Amélie Hoeferle), who posts TikToks about James Baldwin and rants about having any position at all on “stolen land.” Phoenix’s sheriff character, meanwhile, could only be wrought from the era of Trump, as he rails against mask mandates and is suspicious of the George Floyd-inspired protests shaking up his community. At one point, he swaggers into a grocery store with the pompousness of Western’s most classic, gun-on-the-hip cowboys.

Already trying to both sides the pandemic reeks.

And the comparison for how they’re both so comparably whacky? One takes issue a high profile legal case and the ongoing issues with colonialism? the other rants about masks and a man murdered by the cops.

You understand it isn't a documentary, that we've not seen it yet, and Pascal not only plays the role of someone against those things, but has publicly expressed being against them in real life?

The movie, per the article, is controversial for sure, but there's nothing to indicate it's advocating for those kinds of thinking.

Don't get me wrong, you're free to take the movie however you do. It's impossible to say otherwise because such things are subjective.

But, have you seen the movie yet?
