I would like to point out that Cyberpunk 2077 was announced in the same year as Star Citizen was announced (2012). I don’t know much about anything but being bankrolled for 13 years and not having a completed product must be nice.

After raising over $800 million from its community,

Lemmy should start developing a game to finance the development of the community.

Just say you are doing it, until a few million in you don't even need to start it.

I can't claim to be one of the original backers, as I got in after the kickstarter officially ended, but... I am kind of ashamed that my 30-something dollars are part of that 800 million.

Its been so long I can't see ever receiving the game I paid for on kickstarter. We seem so far away from having that game with single player and personally hosted.

Imagine starting your career at the beginning of this game's development, and after a third of your career, it's still just in alphas.

Absolute jackass move on their part. They released the Idris after 10+ years of teasing us with it and it gets eclipsed by marketing de-pantsing yet again.

800 million dollars? They raised $800,000,000 and it's still in alpha? What the fuck.

Also, I hate the trend of content such as ships releasing as a paid DLC, then later as an in-game grind. In the olden days, the ships were free in games like Elite. The only thing that cost money was actual DLC expansions. That trend was probably spearheaded by star citizen devs :p

Has anyone considered that Star Citizen is actually a Real Ancient Aliens Invasion Plot and all that development has been to building a warp gate deep under Akron, Ohio?
