[-] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

Right, bcz this guy has faced so many consequences already...I'll believe it when I see it.

[-] rayquetzalcoatl@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

Haven't we been seeing these headlines for the best part of a decade now?

[-] Gnugit@aussie.zone 1 points 3 months ago

I won't hold my breath..

[-] FreakinSteve@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Obviously thats bullshit but elect me president and I will absolutely rid this country of Nazis and christofascists and imprison the fuck out of anyone who accepts ANY donations or gifts of ANY kind

[-] mrslt@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

I'll believe it when I see it.

If there's one thing that the last 4 years proved its that the systems we have in place to check abuses of power are woefully slow to respond or to change. The only justice he might ever face is the Mangione variety.

[-] selokichtli@lemmy.ml 1 points 3 months ago

Seriously, I'd bet for a heart attack to get rid of him sooner.

[-] OccamsRazer@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

Lol. Surely THIS time...

[-] tacosanonymous@lemm.ee 1 points 3 months ago

In and ideal world, sure.

But this article and the people who published it are deeply unserious.

[-] Korhaka@sopuli.xyz 1 points 3 months ago

Make it poison and you have a deal

[-] Retro_unlimited@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

I just keep hoping it’s like a police chase, they just keep adding up all the crimes and charges until it’s too much and take him down in the end with a spike strip.

[-] Coelacanth@feddit.nu 1 points 3 months ago

I will simply reuse my statement from the last time any sort of "consequences" were in the news:

I'm basing my conclusions on precedent, rather than wishful thinking. Hence, I will continue to assume Trump will get away with everything forever until proven otherwise.

[-] Phegan@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

Things that won't come true after seeing them of the 272,121st time.

[-] TheDeadlySquid@lemm.ee 1 points 3 months ago

Oh, just stop already. It’s not happening. Ever!

[-] Anomalocaris@lemm.ee 0 points 3 months ago

white rich and powerful.

I think they are immune to consequences.

[-] vga@sopuli.xyz 1 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

He figured out he can just pardon himself. He doesn't care how corrupt and amoral this makes him look. Shame is a distant, foreign concept to him.

[-] Blue_Morpho@lemmy.world 0 points 3 months ago

Using Trump logic, the next president could still deport him to a foreign prison. If the supreme Court says, "You can't do that.", the president can say there's nothing they can do to get him back now.

[-] entwine413@lemm.ee 1 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Why are you assuming that there will be a next president while he's still alive (not a call to violence)

Wow, what a "cool" "article"

[-] dis_honestfamiliar@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 3 months ago

But what's up with open quotation without the closing one? I clicked the title to see if there was more to it, but it's the same. Like wtf.
