Εσείς θα πάτε στην κόλαση, είναι πράγματα του διαβόλου αυτά! /Joke

Μου ανάφερε η μάνα των Λιαντίνη, αλλά εγώ δεν το ήξερα καθόλου. Έκανα μια αναζήτηση και διάβασα την ιστορία του.
Τραγικό και απίστευτο μπορώ να πω.

Montreal-based firm LPC Avocats claims some 500,000 customers across Canada received an email in April 2024 saying they had won a boat through the promotion.

Superior Court Justice Donald Bisson ruled last week that the class action can move forward, but limited it to Quebec residents because the case hinges on that province's consumer protection laws.

Lawyer Joey Zukran says his clients should be awarded the boat and trailer they were told they won, plus damages.

He says the Quebec law states that merchants and not customers should be held responsible for errors.

A spokesperson for Tim Hortons says the company apologized last year to the customers who received the email, and declined to comment further because the case is before the courts.

DHL Express Canada stopped delivery service across the country Friday as workers continue to strike and new federal legislation banning replacement workers comes into effect.

Unifor has said its bargaining priorities with DHL revolve around wages, working conditions and surveillance and automation in the workplace.

Unifor representative Balkar Bains, who was on the picket line in Brampton Friday, said the new legislation has "empowered unions to be able to have fair bargaining."

Earlier this week, DHL wrote to Ottawa, asking the federal government to allow the company to continue operating despite the ban, arguing the company provides an essential service.

In response, Unifor wrote to Prime Minister Mark Carney, asking that the federal government not intervene, saying it would remove the employer's incentive to negotiate and settle a fair contract.

The DHL delivery stoppage comes at a time of turmoil for parcel delivery in Canada, as Canada Post remains at loggerheads with the union that represents 55,000 of its workers.

Vending machines that used face detection technology to track information about users on the University of Waterloo campus breached privacy rights.

In February 2024, the university removed 29 vending machines that were tracking the age and gender of customers without their knowledge or consent. The move came after opposition from University of Waterloo students, who became aware of the technology after a Reddit user spotted an on-screen error message on one of the machines, which indicated an apparent problem with its facial recognition program.

Invenda, the Switzerland-based manufacturer of the vending machines, told CBC at the time the machines use facial analysis, not facial recognition, software, and that it isn't storing data or photos. The company says its technology is mainly used to tell when a person is standing in front of a vending machine, and to change the screen from "standby" mode, which shows ads, to "sales" mode, which shows different products.

I'm asking friendly to not post reddit links, this is lemmy and we should ether upload the photo right away or upload it somewhere else and provide a photo.

Simple, no Karma whoring, real people to argue, no bots posting fake stories about something that happened related to the post, and best of all, controlled by users and not corporate people.
