scrcpy can emulate a v4l2 device in Linux.
Thanks I didn't know that
I have used DroidCam in the past. Worked pretty well, but it's been a couple of years
yeah, that was the first app I used to achieve the goal. however, for some reasons DroidCam was rejecting request from the reverse proxy, and I didn't have any idea why. so, I thought let's find an open-source alternative of DroidCam and then I found Remote Cam which worked great however the last commit was 2 years ago.
1)DroidCam – Works on both Android and iPhone, connects via USB, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth. 2)EpocCam – Compatible with iOS and Android, supports wireless connection and works with many video chat apps. 3)iVCam – Supports Windows and lets you connect via Wi-Fi or USB, works with Android and iPhone. 4)Iriun Webcam – Cross-platform app supporting Windows, Mac, and Linux, connects over Wi-Fi. 5)Reincubate Camo – Offers high-quality video and lots of settings, works with iPhone and Mac/Windows.
I knew about few of them, but I was finding a open-source alternative. Thank you for the list though :)
- DroidCam (Linux client is open-source)
- OBS Camera Plugins + Phone Streaming Apps
this is built into android, why would you need an app?
