I just had a nice chat with one of the security guards and she told me to stay safe with a smile on her face. That's the second surprise I've had today.

We were highfiving the cops at the Houston one earlier today, everything seems a lot more chill then the doom and gloom we were expecting after abbots comments about the national guard

Wait ... you're local? I intended to go today, but my Street Medics chaperone got sick yesterday, which I only learned about when reaching out to finalize plans around 1030.

I'm 45 and have never been to a true protest, let alone covered one (I got pressed into reporting in college from time to time, but those weren't protests so much as students sitting around for a couple of hours). I was hoping to get eased into it today, but alas. I mean, it's not as though more of these aren't coming down the pike, but it sure as fuck gets hotter from here.
