I remember reading an announcement from the main developer that he isn't able to find time to work on that project not too long ago, so not sure if it is a viable option for the future. Definitely a cool project though.
Here is the link to the post I mentioned: https://www.patreon.com/posts/olives-future-79926246
i think thats all the more reason to get more and more people to try it in hopes that it will get the sponsorship it needs. IMO it really does have potential to be one of, if not the best video editor
Never heard of Olive. I use Shotcut. I should give Olive a try.
Here is an alternative Piped link(s):

I'm open-source; check me out at GitHub.
Pitty it wasn't hosted on peertube
Umm, it was though? The event was both streamed there and uploaded there first and foremost, we're now putting our efforts into uploading and maintaining our YouTube channel as another point of contact for the project.
Neat! I'll have to check it out
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.
