My takeaway is that furries are far more organised than everyone else.

[-] Blaster_M@lemmy.world 18 points 2 months ago

Not just furries... all the ponies too

[-] ohshit604@sh.itjust.works 6 points 2 months ago

What’s the difference?

[-] Blaster_M@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Different fandoms, even though they share some features

[-] Rose@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 months ago

One is a family-friendly brand for children turned into what anime is to the so-called alt-right, and the other goes as far as embracing bestiality-adjacent topics, as evident from some of the artwork on this very canvas, right?

[-] EddoWagt@feddit.nl 14 points 2 months ago

I didn't even know there was a canvas going on

[-] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world 14 points 2 months ago

I never knew these servers had so many degenerates.

[-] lvxferre@mander.xyz 13 points 2 months ago

You should've seen the chat. Hestia was almost writing a lemon fanfic about other two users, it was hilarious.

[-] Redjard@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 2 months ago

Not only almost, I got the real deal too, however quickly deleted.

[-] lvxferre@mander.xyz 2 points 2 months ago

Ah :-/ I wish I saw it, just for the laughs!

Fanfic = fiction written by fans of a certain work (series, book, etc.) Sometimes deviating from the original story, sometimes adding stuff or fixing plot holes, sometimes pairing characters into a romantic relationship...

Lemon = smut, sexually explicit fanfic.

In this case it's being called "fanfic" metaphorically, as if both people in the chat were characters of some work.

[-] DmMacniel@feddit.org 7 points 2 months ago

Aaah that's the lemon, got it. Thanks.

[-] Redjard@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 2 months ago

Is it possible to get an uncompressed or far less compressed version?

Thanks, it's beautiful (and so small)

Poor aussie.zone didn't stand a chance to get their flag in

Edit: Oh except for the tiny one I see there!

[-] lvxferre@mander.xyz 9 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I remember them mentioning some technical problem, right at the start. I kind of used the opportunity to write the "fuck flags // fuck nations // we're in a single Earth" text, right where they'd make the union jack. Then I saw people actually making a background for it and thought "yeah, no huge Australian flag this time".

[-] eagleeyedtiger@lemmy.nz 10 points 2 months ago

I like the sentiment, but thought it was kinda funny that there were so many flags everywhere else.

[-] zkfcfbzr@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

While there were flags everywhere, I felt like there were a lot fewer than these things usually have, at least.

[-] lvxferre@mander.xyz 3 points 2 months ago

If I didn't suck so bad at recruiting people for my anti-flags faction, perhaps we would see less of them.

[-] Lichtblitz@discuss.tchncs.de 16 points 2 months ago

Maybe you could try and rally them under some kind of banner.

[-] DmMacniel@feddit.org 13 points 2 months ago

A flag, if you will?

[-] zkfcfbzr@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I managed to overwrite half of the long German flag near the bottom, plus the original/lower South African flag, the Czech flag, and the Polish flag. I also did like a third of the background to your message and changed the "in" to "on". I didn't join the Matrix/Discord but your message is what motivated me to do all that, so maybe you're better at recruiting than you think πŸ˜‰

[-] grozzle@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 months ago

when the long german flag was steadily getting longer, i thought, "hmm, what might stop germans advancing eastward?" and placed the polish and czechoslovak (identical to modern czech) flags in their path.

it only stopped them for a while, (but they did go underneath instead of overwriting)

I'm glad I managed to do some change! ...beyond, you know, pissing feddit.org off with my wiggly green line 🀣

(It'll haunt their dreams until Canvas 2026.)

[-] zkfcfbzr@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

What's the story with the wiggly green line? Are those the 6 green pixels on the large German flag?

[-] lvxferre@mander.xyz 1 points 2 months ago

For a lot of the game, I was shaving the German flag's sides, top and bottom. My goal was to leave the text alone (it's cool), but with the LGBTQ+ flag as a background. After all, once the Australian flag went MIA, the largest country flag in the canvas was the German one.

However, since I was doing it by myself and plenty users were reverting my "creative deflation" of the German flag, we quickly reached a standstill.

So I thought on the best way to make at least some vandalism last forever, for a final act of defiance against ~~my Schweinekatze Siegfrieda waking me up 3AM out of nowhere~~ country flags. The solution was to place them in the last seconds of the canvas, somewhere it would be easy for me to plop them all together, but you had to change colours to undo it. Somewhere close to each other for visibility. The net result was a wiggling line between the red and yellow.

Thank you for setting it up again this year!

I was trying to make "LCP" above the Hololive logo. I made the P and was working on the C when I started to feel unwell and stepped away from my computer.

Wasn't able to get back to it later unfortunately, so now it just looks like a :P emoticon πŸ˜›πŸ˜…

Was this one shorter than last years? Seems like things didn't change much once things were initially sketched out.

[-] sugar@toast.ooo 4 points 2 months ago

Last years was extended due to canvas breaking for a few hours :)
