Violet walks along with flowers in her hand. She says,"I think I'll give these flowers to Charlie Brown"

She approaches him sitting down reading and holds the flowers out to him. He turns to her frowning and exclaims,"I can't accept flowers from a girl!!"

She stoops next to him and asks,"How would it be if you just snatched them out of my hand?" He replies,"Well...."

She walks off flowerless saying,"Charlie Barown is so manly!"

It was considered too forward on the part of the woman and too harsh a role reversal in 1951, when this was published.
