There will be a LOT more and there's no guarantee that we won't be the next.

Please continue voting for Drill, Baby Drill party

My wife works with a renewable company that has most of its projects in Texas.

She tried to engage their company to provide support and they were like, "Lots of people need help. There are wildfires in Utah."

She thinks there is a pretty big nationwide prejudice against Texas.

If so I get it. I feel like Texas shoots itself in the face, constantly, because the voting right is just soo dumb.

But these were little kids and poor families. Yes it was preventable, but that just makes it more tragic.

We failed them already and now we are failing them again.

Their elected officials failed them first by refusing funds from Biden then by taking the funds and using it for the sheriffs'. They've then voted in the party that is making things worse, removing disaster aid entirely, and removing environmental monitoring. It is sad that the kids died but there literally was a federal attempt to prevent this by the Biden administration that was fucked by their Republican representatives.

I suspect the reaction would have been less if the Christian themed camps were spared.

Even so, I doubt even these protests can do much

Yeah, protesting in front of this administration and expecting results is laughable. Even for white people who had their kids die at Jesus camp

I'm sorry but I don't feel bad at all for these parents.

Yeah, you lost your child, your baby. Since this was a Christian Bible camp in Texas that worked hard to break the rules so that they could have their camp cheaply, it's extremely fair to assume that all these parents are trump voters who voted for this shit.

You voted for your child to die. You made your bed, now STFU and lie in that bed.

You voted for your child to die.

It's not what she voted for. You know that, everyone knows that. Still you continue to write this bullshit which dehumanizes the out group. You are the part of the problem too.

Discussion of climate, how it is changing, activism around that, the politics, and the energy systems change we need in order to stabilize things.

As a starting point, the burning of fossil fuels, and to a lesser extent deforestation and release of methane are responsible for the warming in recent decades: Graph of temperature as observed with significant warming, and simulated without added greenhouse gases and other anthropogentic changes, which shows no significant warming

How much each change to the atmosphere has warmed the world: IPCC AR6 Figure 2 - Thee bar charts: first chart: how much each gas has warmed the world. About 1C of total warming. Second chart: about 1.5C of total warming from well-mixed greenhouse gases, offset by 0.4C of cooling from aerosols and negligible influence from changes to solar output, volcanoes, and internal variability. Third chart: about 1.25C of warming from CO2, 0.5C from methane, and a bunch more in small quantities from other gases. About 0.5C of cooling with large error bars from SO2.

Recommended actions to cut greenhouse gas emissions in the near future:
