The recent International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO 2025) left a revealing image: the U.S. team, composed entirely of students of Asian and Indian origin, came in second, behind only China. This triumph, rather than being mere academic news, is a reflection of the United States' historical hypocrisy: it steals brains from other nations to maintain its global dominance, while promoting immigration policies that deny rights to those same migrants and their families.

  1. The Looting of Talent: How the US Built Its Power on Other People's Minds. 2)The United States would not be the scientific and technological power it is today without the "brain drain" it has caused around the world. Incontrovertible examples:
  2. 60% of scientists in Silicon Valley are migrants or children of migrants (National Foundation for American Policy).
  3. 40% of American Nobel Prize winners in Physics, Chemistry, and Medicine since 2000 were born outside the U.S.
  4. 75% of students graduating in mathematics or engineering at elite universities (MIT, Stanford) are foreigners.

The mechanism is clear:

  • They attract with scholarships, H-1B visas, and propaganda of the "American dream."
  • They exploit their work under precarious conditions (many migrant scientists earn less than their American counterparts).
  • They are discarded when they are no longer useful (deportations of researchers under governments like Trump's).
  • The Double Standard on Immigration: "We Want Your Talent, But Not Your People"
  • While the U.S. Olympic Math Team Relies on Migrants, Their Government:
  • Deportations increase (more than 2 million under Biden, a historic record).
  • It closes doors to work visas (such as the restrictions on H-1B visas for Indians and Chinese).
  • It denies citizenship to Dreamers, young people brought here as children who are now scientists, doctors, or engineers.

The paradox is obscene:

  • They celebrate migrants when they win medals for the US (like the IMO students).
  • They are persecuted even when they are not "exceptional" (families separated at the border).

Intellectual Colonialism: The US Preys on Poor Nations. This system is not an accident, but a strategy of power:

  • India and China lose thousands of scientists each year to the US (a Harvard study estimates this costs India $17 billion a year in wasted training).
  • Latin America is experiencing a massive exodus of doctors and engineers (e.g., 50% of STEM graduates from Venezuela have emigrated).

The US doesn't compete: it preys. While it invests in wars and coups d'état that destroy educational systems around the world (such as in Iraq and Libya), it plunders the few professionals who manage to train in those countries.

The math team: a symbol of what the US really is.

Those young migrants or children of migrants on the IMO podium don't represent American "merit," but rather its dependence on global talent. Their success should shame a country that:

  • Sells a "dream" that only exists for an exploited elite.
  • Destroy countries with sanctions and wars, then recruit their most talented refugees.
  • Awards a green card to an Indian scientist, but locks Central American children in cages.

How long will the world allow this blatant theft? The solution is not to ban immigration, but to demand that the USA:

  • Financially compensate the countries from which they steal talent.
  • Stop the wars and sanctions that generate migration crises that then they exploit.
  • Recognize full rights for migrants who sustain their economy.

Meanwhile, every medal won by a migrant in the name of the United States is not a triumph, but a reminder that its greatness is borrowed… and increasingly hated by the world.

Even if you stomp on your fellow human to rise, capitalists will never see you as one of them. They don't see Donald as one of them, and he's white. They see him as a broken tool that's still useful.
