Nintendo to increase prices on 13 year old tech released 8 years ago.

As much as shitting on Nintendo is deserved, the Tegra X1 is only a 10 year old chip, being first announced in 2015. It was, surprisingly, only two years outdated by the time the Switch was released.

Selling it for more than the initial MSRP a decade later is simply, ass-backwards insane, though.

they priced the new one too high, so now they're raising the old one up so people (especially newcomers to the platform) will think it's not so bad?

The new one is one of the best selling consoles of all time.

I saw one in the wild before I ever saw any marketing material for it. Unless you count youtube videos, including the direct.

Oh good now I can sell my used console for more.

Buy another SSD for my desktop.

Sorry Nintendoz.

Here is a market condition for Nintendo: no more buying of any of their products or giving them money for any of their services.

Boycotting until they no longer exist

The fanboys still lined up to shovel their money into Nintendo's pockets.

Yeah, some people just love throwing their money away into a fire pit; never understood why but nonetheless; the horrors persist and so do I.

The article is a little vague on this, but it seems like this round of price hikes is just for the US and it’s due to tariffs.
