SimpleX uses its own notification service, which is why it consumes excessive battery. Which notification setting are you using?
I installed it from Google play so I think it would be using play service like element does but in settings I can see 3 options run at startup run all the time and 3rd one
Use the run all the time setting. There is no getting around that. Unless, you have a unified push server which can notify for replies.
It does not use FCM. Like I said, they have their own service.
You just need to adjust that setting to your preference.
There is no settings to fetch stuff when I click on a group instead of fetching for every group 😕
You can make this suggestion to the developer. Maybe, he can suggest something to reduce the battery impact of server polling.
