What the author was looking for instead
@Davriellelouna I might be missing something, but if the prompts were "draw a _typical_ <thing>" and that's what they got then that makes sense.
The journo is searching for a story. He gave AIs simplistic prompts and got simplistic responses.
An 'ideal' Australian dad isn't white. He's blue, lives in Brisbane and sounds like he used to sing indy hits in the 90's.
Where i'm from he's greek and looks like something outta sushi mango
The iguana man could plausibly be of First Nations heritage.
Also, would it really be “typical Australian” if there was neither a beach nor red-earthed countryside and no large, weird-looking and possibly dangerous wildlife? That’s how you tell that the people in the picture are Australian and not from any modern westernised country.
chat.mistral.ai of course nailed it
That is scary similar to many a good bloke. Nicely done
Why specifically an Iguana, though? You're not even allowed to have one as a pet in Australia as far as I know
Where is the sexism?
Where's the racism? It's like specifying a native American dwelling and being surprised you get a teepee.
Turns out that when you go out hunting for things to be offended by you tend to find them.
The "Aboriginal Australian's house' one for example was clearly going to be a no-win situation regardless of the output - if the model returned the same house as the 'Australian's house' image they'd be writing instead about how offensive it was to ignore traditional culture.
have you tagged as racist and you're certainly living up to the moniker.
I guess you're a prime example of someone looking to be offended then, because I really haven't said anything racist.
Yeah, I'm sure.
