I've never played that either, but I love Metroidvanias so I assume it's great.
I picked up the Mass Effect trilogy recently following a tip from here (I think).
I think if you like Metroidvanias, it stands to reason that you'd like Metroid and Castlevania!
I started playing the Legendary edition of the trilogy but never ended up finishing it. The first game for sure hasn't aged very well IMO.
I think they're referring to zero mission. I've not heard of that one myself until now.
It may not be as retro but I was gifted Yakuza Like a Dragon a year or so ago and so I've been playing though all the games. I'm currently on 4.
I'll probably make it to LAD when the Kiwami version comes out at this rate.
Finished RE:1 a while back, I'd like to play the rest! Or at least, most of them. Silksong has my major interest now though!
Which version of RE1 did you end up playing?
REMake! Enjoyed it quite a lot, gonna play 0 when I finish Silksong or sometime after. I know it gets flak, but I want to play it before the other remakes.
I'll probably catch shit for this but REMake is probably the best version to play.
From what I've seen, most people tend to love it, even if the campy cutscenes of the original are treasured. Additions like the red skulls(?) and the gorgeous pre-rendered backgrounds make the game hold up well today!
Been in talks to run Star Ocean along with a friend so we could compare notes and talk about stuff. Hard to decide between the OG and the PSP remake, though.
Also kudos to starting Metroid, there's so few misses in that series.
Someday I'll get to Ys and Romancing Saga, heard they apparently have "actually good JRPG gameplay".
Someday. Not today.
Patient Gamers
A gaming sub free from the hype and oversaturation of current releases, catering to gamers who wait at least 12 months after release to play a game. Whether it's price, waiting for bugs/issues to be patched, DLC to be released, don't meet the system requirements, or just haven't had the time to keep up with the latest releases.
