After recovering a bit from watching The Stranger by the Shore, which I have now watched 4 times in the past 3 days, I decided to start The Summer Hikaru Died since I heard it was kinda queer.

And damn, I didn't knew anything going in, but this is genuinely great. It's only 8 episodes so far, but I was hooked from the start. The first episode left me questioning if I made the right choice because I feared I would be left with another whole in my chest, but this is different, maybe it builds to that, maybe not, but it's great either way, I really wanna see where the story goes. I really like the horror elements of it.

It reminds me a little bit of Parasyte too, which is something I was not expecting even after grasping it a bit more.

Also the queer connotation is definitely there, and I hope it is explored at least a bit further since I read somewhere that it doesn't really gets into it a lot.

In the meantime since I now have to wait for the next episode I'll start reading the sequel to The Stranger by the Shore. I just read the source of the movie, which is quite a bit different and not gonna lie, I definitely prefer the movie.

I think the animation is really nice -- usually I prefer the manga, but seeing it animated gives it an extra edge. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
