Surely some staffer runs this account though? Greg Abbott is still an idiot, but it's entirely possible he knew nothing about this particular tweet (although probably does now) ...
I want to believe this, but given Trump's insistence on using his own Twitter account while president, one never knows. Cofeve.
And even if it was a staffer, what does that say about the knee-jerk, uncritical thinkers that Abbot employs?
It speaks more to the uncritical thinkers this party openly creates and then courts that it doesn't matter to them if their leaders blatantly lie to them. If it feeds into their bigotry and prejudice they eat it up. It's confirmation bias of the highest order.
I'm sure Abbott and his cronies are aware of this. They destroy education (openly opposing the teaching of critical thinking in their party's published platform), promote uncritical, religious, dogmatic thought instead, and then willfully exploit the idiocy they have bred for their own benefit.
If he's one of the dumbest people in the country, how stupid does that make all his supporters?

There are lots of different levels of dumb. I've met some real smart people who are also dumb. They know their trade but know nothing else. The smartest people I've met in life are those who are smart from experience and education combined.
Not a supporter, but I feel like just about anybody can fall for this shit these days.
The city named in the article doesn't even exist. I for one would expect my Governor to at least have someone fact check basic information like that before they tweet and prove they're an idiot that doesn't even know their own state. Yeah Texas is big, they love to brag about that, you can literally type the name in Google and see it doesn't exist.
The article is clearly satire. The name of the damned place is the Duning-Kruger Times for fuck's sake. This is almost as bad as the conservatives that retweeted about the clearly fake Planned Parenthood Abortionplex article years ago.
