Being against genocide is pretty controversial these days...

[-] KeavesSharpi@lemmy.ml 63 points 8 months ago

So... Never Again™ actually means only the Jews. Got it.

[-] manuallybreathing@lemmy.ml 35 points 8 months ago

Never Again is a phrase popularised by zionist terrorist Kahane in the 70s, the original phrasing used by holocaust survivors was never forget

[-] anarchoilluminati@hexbear.net 18 points 8 months ago

No, they can't use Never Forget either. That's 9/11 now which was like 10 Holocausts in one day.

[-] timewarp@lemmy.world 42 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

So now the message is to be scared to stand up for what is right?

[-] limer@lemmy.ml 15 points 8 months ago

Always has been.

[-] VeryVito@lemmy.ml 35 points 8 months ago

What the hell? So “Never Again” doesn’t actually mean “Never again” anymore?

What the fuck is wrong with everyone these days?

[-] Collatz_problem@hexbear.net 14 points 8 months ago

The structure of the moment in the West demands fascism, so lo and behold!

[-] hackerwacker@lemmy.ml 1 points 8 months ago

It never did mean that though.

[-] davel@lemmy.ml 34 points 8 months ago

“Never again” can’t mean never again for Palestinians.

always makes me laugh that my guy went from talking about the Israhell futbol team into "Free Free Palestine" in under a minute thanks to the least annoying zionists present

[-] Genius@lemmy.zip 2 points 8 months ago

Everything is political and saying "no politics" just reinforces the status quo. Not that I'd expect a Hexbear user to understand that.

[-] Thordros@hexbear.net 20 points 8 months ago

It's a bit. Like, "You can't fight in here, this is the War Room!"

Yeah, and it's bullshit that they did. Cowards

[-] Orcocracy@hexbear.net 24 points 8 months ago

Oh the printers messed this up, it’s supposed to say “Never? Again!”

[-] pineapplelover@lemmy.dbzer0.com 19 points 8 months ago
  • Never again under my discretion only

someone lost their job, at least.

[-] sawne128@hexbear.net 17 points 8 months ago

I like the idea that the concept of something not happening several times is owned by Jews.

[-] 4grams@awful.systems 15 points 8 months ago

So their new slogan gonna be “ok, maybe just this one more time…for now.”

[-] DarkDarkHouse@lemmy.sdf.org 3 points 8 months ago

It’s different when we do it

[-] ettyblatant@lemmy.world 15 points 8 months ago

The language in this is almost hilarious in just how hard they're trying to throw someone under the bus. This was something they thought of, and pre-planned what, before the genocide? And then they have taken actions internally and fired so-and-so for it because it was all their fault!? Gosh, what a pickle!

I don't get it, what was the message sent by the first post?

[-] grrgyle@slrpnk.net 39 points 8 months ago

It seemed to acknowledge that peoples other than Jews can also be victims of genocide.

This is considered controversial because Israel, which attempts to position itself as representing Jewish interests, is perpetrating a genocide on non-Jews as we speak. They deny that they are committing genocide.

[-] pineapplelover@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 8 months ago

Well but if they deny they're committing genocide then they still can be against genocide right?

This is a rhetorical statement btw
[-] grrgyle@slrpnk.net 2 points 8 months ago

I agree with your rhetorical statement, but I think I'm missing some implication.

It's a true statement, I just don't understand what you're pointing out.

[-] pineapplelover@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 8 months ago

Rhetorical because they're fucking hypocrites who believe that killing Palestinians is the right thing to do so they get to do whatever they want.

[-] whyNotSquirrel@sh.itjust.works 8 points 8 months ago

ohh, that makes more sense. I thought it meant never again but just for the Jews, otherwise it's okay. Actually my take seems more accurate currently

[-] geneva_convenience@lemmy.ml 9 points 8 months ago

It's a variant of

Never Again Means Never Again For Anyone

Which is used these days to protest the Holocaust perpetrators supporting Israel.

[-] marcela@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 8 months ago

It was too woke for them. It features People of Color.
