Please don't use Grok. That's just supporting Musk.
Also, why would you ask an AI if you were going to ask people anyway?

Well are there Alternatives with similar capablities as grok? I just decided its worth a try.
I ask people and ai to collect Info. Why I used grok even though I ask around Here now? I wanted to try it out for research purposes
They're all the same and most of their answers are complete horseshit. Don't give in to this shit, it makes you lose your ability to discern truth from lies. It's just another tool to turn people into mindless, propaganda-gobbling zombies.
Anyhow, if you want quick photos that look good without additional editing, then phones are likely your best bet. I'm not aware of compact cameras that have the kind of computing power and enhancement algorithms on board. I don't like the kind of photos iPhones makez but you'll fool most people with the pictures you take on an iPhone. There are also quite a few good android phones.
Mirrorless cameras are the way to go if you want to change lenses but that'll be way over the budget you set yourself. Even the a6400 costs a small fortune when paired with a good lens or two, and that's really the beginner's segment. Then you need good software for developing the raw photos and that's a hobby itself.
Honestly, if you want "quick unprofessional photos" stick with a smartphone.
Standalone cameras don't have nearly the processing or automated modes of modern phones. So while bigger sensors and better glass can get you a better image it comes along with needing to know how to use the camera and processing the photos afterwards.
That said if you still want something at a decent price I'd be looking at a used Fuji x100 or Sony rx100.
I find that my Sony RX100 produces better photos than my Pixel phone. It has an auto mode that generally picks the right settings.
The pictures are more detailed and less blurry, especially in low light.
The only post processing necessary is copying the pictures from the SD card, which is admittedly a pretty big hassle.
You're right about buying one second hand, since they're incredibly expensive.
Why is it a hassle?
The SD card? I have to track down my SD card reader, copy the pictures over, and then upload them to my photo service. It's not a huge amount of work, but I'm pretty lazy.
My rx100 doesn't have Wi-Fi. I assume newer cameras would do that automatically, but I don't want to spend $600+ to get another good point n shoot.
Why is it a hassle
It sounds like the cameras you are looking for are in the Cannon Powershot ELPH range (sub $500).
I'm still using an original Sony RX100. I think it's something like ten or twelve years old.
The photos it produces look better than smartphone pictures, especially in low light.
It's the kind of thing that's a hassle to carry around, so I usually just bring it to family gatherings or my kids milestone events. Otherwise, I use phone pics.
I asked grok
why? it doesn't know anything, it's just predictive text
Can you focus on the question instead of riding the anti ai dogma? I understand the concerns about ai but I just used it how its supposed to be used: as a Tool
To answer your question: from the way grok seems to work I just thought its better suited than gpt for research purposes
it isn't "anti ai dogma", this is not what these tools are good at
they are predictive text machines, they use a statistical model to decide what words go next to each other
they are good for writing blocks of text and some coding tasks, they are not a database of information
to answer the camera question, for your use case a smartphone would be fine
Yea but even though admittedly im no expert, from my understanding grok was created to work with existing Information in mind (e.g. Reasoning about context with existing studies; sorry for insta link). So I decided its worth a try to see what data it can scrape together and whether it can give me good and reasonable cams.
I know what you mean with predictive Text and im Aware ai is Not perfect but I do think depending on what you ask some AIs that the answers can definitely be reasonable and useful. I do take answers with a pinch of salt.
Thanks for the answer but I specifically ask for cams for digital detox and a specialized tool for a better experience and more battery life as a plus.
I think you fanned the flames with your edit
