Giuseppe Garibaldi, he was a liberal Che Guevara during the 1800s and his most famous act was being the major force behind uniting Italy. Marx and Engels wrote of their sadness of his death, and Garibaldi defended Marx at least once. Basically was a liberal that fought monarchies and could be described as historically progressive.
