All that I can think about is how they could have used this opportunity to honor Palestinians, Armenians, Assyrians, Roma, Sinti, Ethiopians, Libyans, Herero, Nama, Native Americans, or the 115,000 Jews massacred in the proto-Shoah—to name only a handful of examples.
