People who actually give a crap about the genocide know that the dems are fully in support of it.

We don't want to hear this pointless theatrical bullshit about worthless dems "confronting" their fash boss about the worthless PA.

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

I added a comment saying that dems are hypocrites in that post since they also support the genocide and they would not oppose on the ground the dissolution of the PA and thr full annexation/colonization of the west bank.

This is besides the point anyway since i am debating wathever this is us news or world news here

And then they'll ban you for calling it out.

Well, is it mainly about the US Democrats and Trump's reaction to something and their ideas? Then it's US politics... Is it about details of the war in the middle east, containing a side note that the US government reacted, then it's not US news. Or decisions made in the US but with a substantial (somewhat direct) effect on other parts of the world. That's also not just US news. (Or you'd make a different argument about where the news agency is located. But I doubt that's the case here.)

How to explain an article about trump designing antifa as an us terrorist group not being removed. Sorry but the decision sound really selective and it's not the first time that us related news are not removed

[-] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 week ago

Trump designating "antifa" as a terrorist group is actual news.

Dems working with Trump is not news at all. Very normal.

That's why I've long unsubscribed from all the news and politics communities. They're all not very healthy and pretty random in both what gets posted, what's the outrage of the day, and subsequently also all other things that come with these kinds of discussions. Moderation style, and nature of the comments... I'd say read some decent newspaper and skip social media news.

Mods aren't perfect automatons, and I've seen many mods on lemmy let things unfitting for their sub stay up if they find it after it has generated a lot of discussion, in the interest of not killing discussion.

What Dems think about Palestine is Us domestic politics with no consequence to outside world.

Trump acts on behalf of US and US terrorist organisation designation has international consequences.

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

And how designing antifa as a terrorist group in the US world news?

[-] misk@piefed.social 0 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

For one, according to US law you can only designate a foreign organisation as a terrorist one. Secondly, it usually means US will start extraterritorial and extrajudicial killing of foreign nationals.

For one, according to US law you can only designate a foreign organisation as a terrorist one.

We know trump is not respecting laws

Secondly, it usually means US will start extraterritorial and extrajudicial killing of foreign nationals.

This is just your interpretation

[-] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

The only thing that's poorly interpreted is the word "start". Been going on for centuries.

[-] misk@piefed.social 3 points 1 week ago

We know trump is not respecting laws

Even more reason to worry but has no bearing on international newsworthiness.

This is just your interpretation

Rest of the world says „hi”.

This is a community in the spirit of "Am I The Asshole" where people can post their own bans from lemmy or reddit or whatever and get some feedback from others whether the ban was justified or not.

Sometimes one just wants to be able to challenge the arguments some mod made and this could be the place for that.

Posting Guidelines

All posts should follow this basic structure:

  1. Which mods/admins were being Power Tripping Bastards?
  2. What sanction did they impose (e.g. community ban, instance ban, removed comment)?
  3. Provide a screenshot of the relevant modlog entry (don’t de-obfuscate mod names).
  4. Provide a screenshot and explanation of the cause of the sanction (e.g. the post/comment that was removed, or got you banned).
  5. Explain why you think its unfair and how you would like the situation to be remedied.
