Below are two bases of Tech Thralls from the Mechanicum faction. The game is Legion Imperialis, an 8mm tabletop wargame set during the Horus Heresy (Warhammer 30K). These are two test units primed with Wraithbone. Im going to try painting them with Army Painter Speedpaints.

And yes im aware the models are super tiny. Which brings its own challenges but also appeal to the game and the painting.

I might post the one or the other progress pic over time. Of the whole army I mean . These guys wont take me that long I hope

OMG that's so not Epic...

spoilerthis is a joke about a GW wargame called Epic that was superseded by Legion Imperialis and other games

You are not wrong but Epic was 40k and this is 30k

I know but hypothetically they could have just released stat-lines, models and rules for 30k era stuff: vehicles, units, factions etc to played with the Epic system

But obvs I'm kidding it was an outdated game

More people probably play Epic Armageddon than Imperialis. It's one of the better rulesets GW ever produced.

You doing the classic red/black/gunmetal scheme or something custom?

30k gets all the cool AdMech stuff. Legions seems kinda neat but I just can't get into it when it's like 80% space marines and no xenos.

How are the undercuts to these? They were really bad on Space Marine models when the game first launched since it was like they just scaled 32mm down to 8mm and thought that would work.

I cant say I noticed any. Mind you these are just 1 model type out of the mechanicum model range.

The only ones I think I see are on the very bottom (the spot between the guns and the ammo/waist) and those aren't going to be seen. Maybe they did entirely fresh sculpts for the Mechanicum?

I just remember when they showed the Space Marine models, they were awful. Undercuts protruding from the side of missile launchers into Marine faces and chests lol
