hard to not be cynic about this but i have heard of very similar news over and over again and "users will boycot it" everytime. not that i expect for most spotify users to care about this but news always report this as a big thing
Spotify has done a wide variety of horrible stuff for a very long time. I think Spotify could live stream executions of innocent babies and they would be still making money
Tidal and Deezer are similar (and better) products and I believe there's an integration with the latter to import all your Spotify data.
Self-hosting Navidrome, Jellyfin, or Plex is a really easy project comparatively for anyone already running a home server.
There are better options out there and it's been time to abandon Spotify.
