I have continued my Kenshi antics, killing slavers and freeing everyone. I have most of the UC slave farms down now and finally finished my "I got the Phoenix" world tour and handed him to the Shek.

Also bashed through a lot of Jump Space with friends. 4p co-op mission-based PvE space FPS, think Deep Rock on a ship. Love it. Incredible pacing, honest. Could use some player progression, but I'm assuming that's just the early-access-ness. If this is all that ever comes of it, I'll still have gotten my money's worth and would just think of it as a bit repetitive on the content. But fun as hell.

Tried Arc Raiders. Absolutely furious about it. Gamers suck. Thought this could be a learning moment for them since all meaningful loot comes from not-other-players, so the PvPvE should really lead to mostly PvE play and freeform team-ups, but gamers are gamers and deserve the gulag. It's just another Tarkov; most players are pieces of shit. (Note: I have not gotten good, but the moral judgement stands.)

Midnight Fight Express.

It's one of those games where you jump between punching different people in a room and then either block or dodge when they take their turn to attack. Not particularly groundbreaking, but it's a good execution of the whole thing.

Most of the environmental kills are kinda meh and the zones they trigger from feel a bit arbitrary, so being able to grind an opponent's face against a passing train during one level came as a huge suprise.

Overall I liked it but it was kinda short.

Started a new map in Workers and Resources: Soviet Republic.

I looked at a bunch of Mikrorayons on Google Maps and especially Prypiat to get that Soviet City Planning just right.

I also played a lot with efficient and realistic rail systems.

Showed my friend my new map yesterday and he called it beautiful and me autistic :( xD

I've been working on a Soviet themed project too... I'm making a Warsaw Pact themed save for Sims 4. Complete with ahistorical revolutions for those worlds that simply can't pass as anything but their original intended location. I've been having lots of fun trying to map Sims 4 worlds onto the historical Warsaw Pact/Second World, and building "commieblocks" and brutalist styled public buildings... I even made a recolour of the ingame flag object. Sat down to make a single all-Union Soviet flag swatch, maybe an early Bolshevik flag as well, ended up making swatches for every SSR and every Warsaw Pact state that didn't keep their socialist era flag basically the same after the dissolution, and then a little bonus set of the Warsaw Pact flag, an early Bolshevik revolutionary flag, and the current flag of Transnistria. (Which I won't be using for this project, but by that point I just needed three more to round out my swatch number and I liked that better than a second variant of "early Russian revolutionary flags".) I couldn't find any historical flags of any sort, so I finally just made my own. (Later found a pack of communist flags on a Russian Sims site while looking for Lenin and Stalin portraits and authentic Soviet era furniture and such, made from the same base object, but mine's more complete and I like my texture mapping better.)

I was looking at people's builds on a Sims site and saw a lot of "post Soviet" stuff, run down commieblocks and such, and then found a picture obviously taken in Sims with what appeared to be a Lenin statue, of all things. The image poster didn't provide a link, and the post was old and comments locked, so I couldn't ask for it, but I cropped the image, ran a reverse image search, and found the thing. It was indeed a sculpture object that had likely been placed in the location pictured with a builders' mod, as I'd suspected, and having found that and some other Soviet symbolism/stereotypical objects in a merged package someone else had provided in the comments on yet another Sims build of a run down commieblock, I was inspired to actually Do Something with it. It's a silly project, that began with probably the silliest item on the Sims 4 page of Nexus Mods.

Yes, I am Very Autistic about the USSR and the Warsaw Pact and the Cold War, and I like to use simulation games and political/strategy games to work through internal conflicts or to vent off the extreme edge of my communist tendencies before having to deal with liberal relatives for an extended period of time. (Honestly, I just want to make myself as a kid and plop him into a world where the Soviets won and the remains of the Western capitalist world are offscreen and not a threat. The timeline I should have been born in.)

At the rate they keep putting out new worlds I have to empty, evaluate the gameplay special purposes of, and remap onto The Socialist World In 1980 or at least my close-to-modern-day alternate timeline, it'll probably never be "finished". But making it is honestly the best part.

I'd never admit to this in most Sims forums, not until it was done, and then only if I decided to share it publicly. But here... you guys might not all know that game well, but I sure as hell won't get any trouble for Doing Commie Shit.

holy smokes that sounds like the autism that gives you a good time when you set your mind to a silly project :D (that was meant in a nice way i'm almost jealous)

you gotta check out the game i mentioned in my initial comment if you want the true soviet politburo larp, and it's got TONS of mods.

now i'm curious about your sims 4 map, can you share some pics? i can't imagine how you'd depict such a thing in the sims.

That's awesome

I haven't had much time for video games, but I have managed to play a little more Yakuza 0. Still laughing at the complete tonal whiplash between the wholesome/comedic tone of most of the sidequests compared to the gritty seriousness of the main story so far. I kind of dig it.

haven't played too much, but I played the first like hour of The Lonesome Guild, nothing groundbreaking so far (ARPG with persona-esque campfire scenes) but it's fun and cute, and it scratches that PMD itch narrative/graphics wise with royalty free furries

For me, voices of the void. It had a new alpha update, v0.9.0, so I've been going through that. If you are going to try the game, keep in mind that it has a lot of easter eggs and random events that you might want to experience yourself for the first time. Keep external research limited to how to do the daily tasks (it is confusing, make sure to look it up for your version cause it has changed a lot), and also keep in mind that events start really slow.

For my wife, we are going through the Outer Wilds DLC. If you are going to try it or the base game, look up nothing, and you will appreciate the game fully.

Too much Old School Runescape. Any hexbears play or have a clan I can join? Public chat vibes are rancid

Just got a Switch 2. Been playing a little Mario Kart World, a little Wind Waker, and started a new playthrough in Breath of the Wild and have really been enjoying the performance upgrades.

Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom is possibly my new favorite 3D platformer. Definitely in the top 3. You play as a wind-up taxi and there is tons of movement tech. You mostly gain height by boosting off of ramps, but there is more that you learn to do.

But you do gain skills by learning. Within the first 5 minutes you technically have every tool you will ever get, you just don't know how yet. In the style of Tunic, etc.

And there are only 3 buttons + directions, aside from pause button.

Picked up Kingdom Come Deliverance with all DLCs for like 8 bucks.

Started playing, since i love making things way too hard for myself I started in hardcore mode having never played before. I'm getting my ass eviscerated by any random group of bandits but I'm enjoying it a lot! 'Enry is a fun protag.
