I remember back in 2014 in the middle of the oil crash watching coworker after coworker get laid off from their high paying O&G jobs while the federal government extended EI benefits to them, continue to blame all their woes on a liberal government that had nothing to do with a middle eastern, Russian and US Shale production Oil glut. Alberta continues to play the victim in federal politics saying "Ottawa never helps us" even when the liberals bought and funded the completion of a pipeline that was so unpopular that it barely made it across the finish line and had to be forced through jurisdictions that didn't want it there.
