Hi Lemmy, does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

When COSMIC Terminal is on Light theme, vim's cursor is barely visible.

I've tried changing the cursor background color on Vim, as well as Vim's theme. But neither of those two options seems to make a difference.

COSMIC is early on enough that you'd probably be better off opening an issue on their GitHub, this is very likely a bug

Good idea. I'll probably give it a few hours to see if anyone else here has any ideas on how to make sure it's not on my end, then I'll open an issue.

Does COSMIC-term not support setting a custom cursor colour/style?

no you only have two options as of right now. dark or light. that's it.

COSMIC-Term also has very poor image support so using something like Yazi with it is a waste of time. I can see where they're going with the Terminal, it's not there yet though.

Agreed. I feel one can cut it some slack since it's still in beta.

As far as I can tell, there is no option for that. I can't find the config file (does anyone know where it is?).

likely a bug or a "feature" they haven't let fully baked yet with a few other theme options on the DE. Could probably make an issue for it.

Yeah, that's a good guess, given that it's still early days for COSMIC. Will open an issue later today or tomorrow.

See, you've made 2 mistakes, using vim, and using light mode.

does changing to a different dark vim theme help?

[-] Euphoma@lemmy.ml 1 points 3 weeks ago

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.
