These first episodes are kind of slow?
Ive been watching the brazilian version of The Office. Its pretty good. Very short though. Its called "Os Aspones", and takes place in a forgotten governemntal department.
In a parallel universe, Firefly has seven seasons with the exact same writing quality as the first. But in the said same universe, Starsector wouldn't exist. There's always a price to pay.

They did a paltry attempt in the x files reboot, it was....sadly disappointing.
Better Off Ted and My Name is Earl..
Raising hope is a fantastic so-so spiritual successor of My Name Is Earl.
"Threshold" is one show I really liked that nobody seems to have heard of. Sadly cancelled after one season before anything was resolved. Loved the twist about the motivations of the alien intruders, though.
Currently rewatching "People of Earth". Most amusing part for me is always the corporate office like vibe in the alien spaceship.

Just got Sanford & Son through my library and binged all four seasons.

And for me right now that show is Farscape. I don't know if you can call it niche, but it certainly is not very well known where I live. And this show is frelling good. I love it! I love the story, I love the actors, I love all the costumes and puppets, the sets, the effects. It is better than most of the dren studios nowadays produce
I loved farscape when I first watched it on an antenna, later when i watched the last season in a day and a half because netflix claimed they were removing it. I'd like to watch it again soon.

I'll bet he's talking about Bojack Horseman and how they had to double up on season 6 because it got cancelled too soon
