Every time I see gorgeously detailed, textured scenes like these, I’m reminded of a painter who came in to guest lecture our class on French renaissance era art. After he’d finished with some time remaining, he opened up to questions.

A classmate asked about his early motivations, and he described his early process as being “slutty.” When he took his time to craft an especially well elaborated sense of space, feeling, or contrast, he would dirty talk his imagined audience for enjoying something pulled from within himself so thoroughly. Funny dude, one of the few things I remember from that class.
