Just a small one, as a treat.

It was just for the statistics ,nothing personal

The streak is sacrosanct.

Well Ted Crus said the reason is there are too many doors.

Seriously, he actually fucking said that.

I believe in reasonable background checks and waiting periods to purchase and install doors. Anyone with a improperly installed door should be held criminally liable.

[-] musubibreakfast@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

Close, but that's only one part of the problem. You're forgetting that anybody can just open a door. The government should set an age limit, create an aptitude test and start issuing dooring licenses.

Clearly the teachers and students should all be armed with doors.

This makes me wonder, when was the last day that the US actually experienced 0 school shootings?

[-] AmbitiousProcess@piefed.social 0 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

It's already been 2 days since the last mass shooting, and the number of school shootings per year never exceed the number of days in a year, so it's safe to say we still have gaps, but especially in recent years, the numbers are... not looking good.

As in: just 15 days out of all of 2023 would have had no school shootings, if there was only 1 per day.

Do kids go to school every day of the year? I thought they where free on weekends and hollidays.

[-] OlPatchy2Eyes@slrpnk.net -1 points 3 months ago

I acknowledge your point but in fairness the question was when was the last day we experienced no school shootings

FYI: A "school shooting" is anytime a gun is discharged on school grounds. If I go shoot the soccer field on a Saturday afternoon, that counts.

And the San Francisco shooting? That was one kid purposefully going after another. It was a fight with a gun involved, not some random kid shooting the place up.

[-] topherclay@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

All these idiots freaking out over this fact about the United States don't realize it's also counting people bringing their guns to the schools on Saturday afternoons to shoot into soccer field.

Only me and you are the smart ones.

[-] Trail@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

Yeah. Or just a regular one on one non-mass-shooting gunfight in the school premises.

[-] some_kind_of_guy@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

We can have a little shooting, as a treat

[-] MiddleAgesModem@lemmy.world 0 points 3 months ago

Be that as it may, we are still well within our rights to freak out. Even just ONE of the mass shootings should do that for any reasonable person.

Yeah I was being sarcastic to highlight how stupid that guy's comment was.
