Hello comrades and welcome to the fifth improvement megathread of November! bonfire It's the last day of November, which is a good time to review the progress from the past month.

Some discussion ideas:

+ How was your November?

+ Do you have any goals for December?

November was good. My new YouTube channel is chugging along at month 2 and I haven't given up yet. The community is slowing growing with more people commenting so that's uplifting, and after a huge view slump at the start of the month compared to October, I'm finishing relatively strong.

I started this as an experiment and my goal for December is to set myself up content wise until the end of the year and then review, to see if I want to keep going.

Got news didn't pass one exam which makes sense, planning on finishing some pathways for 2-4 years appreciates so I'll figure I'll finish those study some more and get back to it. The rate I'll finish would probably be 2 months if I give it my all, I made it this far so why not a bit more study.

On books been reading how not to age, not heavy theory but I do have open veins of latin America on my hold list at my library. When that book gets in then I'll get back to theory reading

I also have How Not to Age, it's probably the next book in my queue. I have already read How Not to Die and How Not to Diet, both books are bangers! Dr Greger is the GOAT vegan-seitan

Fr I remember checking out how not to diet from a recommendation you gave me before so thank you for that rat-salute

I'm glad you liked it! unity It's a potentially life changing book so I'm recommending it any chance I get

Self Improvement

333 readers
15 users here now

A community which focusses on improving yourself. This can be in many different ways - from improving physical health or appearance, to improving mental health, creating better habits, overcoming addictions, etc.

While material circumstances beyond our control do govern much of our daily lives, people do have agency and choices to make, whether that is as "simple" as disciplining yourself to not doomscroll, to as complex as recreating yourself to have many different hobbies and habits.

This is not a place where all we do is talk about improving "productivity" (in a workplace context) and similar terms and harmful lifestyles like "grindset". Self-improvement here is intended to make you a generally better and happier person, as well as a better communist, and any other roles you may have in your life.

Rules and guidelines:

  1. Posts should be about self-improvement. This is obviously a wide category, and can range from advice, to finding resources, to self-posts about needing to improve in a certain area, or how you have improved, and many other things.

  1. Use content warnings when discussing difficult subjects.

  1. Do not make medical decisions solely because of a discussion you have had with any person here (e.g. whether to take or not take medications; diagnoses; etc.) as we do not vet people. All medical problems should be discussed with a real-life medical professional.

  1. Do not post harmful advice here. If this is seen, then please report it and we shall remove it. If you are unsure about whether it's precisely harmful advice or not but feel uneasy about it, please report it anyway.

  1. Do not insult other users and their lifestyles or their habits (unless they ask, I suppose). This is a place for self-improvement. Critique and discussion about a course of action is encouraged over shit-flinging. Don't talk down to people.
