I don't think it was too soon. They kind of lost the plot when they moved on from trying to tie every season to a marvel movie. It was good and I loved it and I want more like it, but it was time

Oh that definitely I agree was wrong. Nothing in it really breaks canon what with all the timeline jumping and such both the show and movies did. Loki alone should have made S.H.I.E.L.D. canon
Maybe not completely. There were several references to AOS in Wandavision. For example, the Hydra Soap ad is believed to be a nod to the AOS Framework story line where Coulson was sure that Hydra was using soap to mess with everyone's memories. Also, the Darkhold from AOS which was taken to the dark dimension by Ghost Rider, was returned from there by Morgan Le Fay in the Runaways series. Somehow, Agnes Harkness took possession of it after that and it appeared prominently in Wandavision.
It always felt like it was trying to be canonical but no one else wanted it to be. It was the little brother desperate to join the older kids only to get ditched at every opportunity.
Which was annoying because most of the show was good, and all it would have taken is a tiny Easter egg to acknowledge it exists. As far as I know, the only thing we ever got was Jarvis in endgame being played by the same actor from Agent Carter.
It's kind of strange that the Netflix shows are the ones that got folded into canon when they basically ignored the rest of the MCU after Avengers. But I suppose that disconnect and the more narrow focus means there's a lot less to clean up to make it fit. That and the fact that they were popular enough for Disney to see them as valuable.
Is this one of those shows that require you watch every Marvel movie known to man before you understand it or to avoid spoilers? I've heard good things but I'm not doing all of that, I don't even like all the movies from my favorite director let alone Marvel's entire cinematic universe.
Not really. The first avengers movie helps establish a few characters and plot points, but you don't necessarily need to see the movie. Winter soldier does have some key elements that the series doesn't really cover well if you haven't seen it by the time you get to where it released in the series. There's obviously build up to the other movies as well, but nothing as impactful from what I remember.
Thanks for the response, I'll check it out in that case. I've just been overwhelmed by a lot of Marvel stuff, I still haven't seen End Game or Infinity War because I haven't seen all the movies that tie into them.
Such a good ending, imo. I watched the last season this year, so kinda late and fuzzy memory on previous seasons. It felt like a proper ending. Not like it just ended just like that, like a cancelled show, but as one that could plan a worthy ending. Not with a feeling of "it ended? where rest?", but "it has come to an end." The gang we followed closely for seasons continues, in-universe, but we won't follow along with them.
Not a lot of Marvel shows be like that. I guess they leave it open for the possibility of more? Like they could just bring it back if they wanted. Runaways especially had me bugged. Great show, but… wtf was that ending? No, really. I recall being kinda confused by it
The TV show went on for far too long. It got real stupid in the later seasons.
