If the US keeps this up then it ain't going to go well... for the US.

One potential outcome is further acceleration of diversification in economies away from the need for oil imports in South/Central Americas due to the increased cost of shipping oil due to US piracy. This will then spur further investment in green economies - manufacture, production, employment etc which I'm sure the PRC would be more than happy to continue giving a helping hand.
