a steady rise since 08

Economic decline correlated with an increase in state violence.

Really syncs up well with an understanding of capitalism and its contradictions.

Economic decline correlated with an increase in state violence.

Precisely. Expect more violence as economic conditions continue to deteriorate.

I'm amazed people are acting shocked. It's not as if there aren't a plethora of examples throughout history of this always happening as a regime becomes a wounded dog.

How many of those yearly totals are higher than the Tiananmen Square total?

Around 300, so just like I thought, all of them are higher, even ignoring that most of those 300 were soldiers

Ohh I get it, so you meant like higher in the sense that the US numbers are worse, even accounting for much of Tiananmen losses being military. With your first post, I thought you were doing the "but what about bajillion killed in Tiananmen Square thing" for a moment there. ๐Ÿ˜… Glad that wasn't the case.

I don't blame you for being cautious. I honestly didn't consider that there could be a liberal or two around these parts.

This is just another way liberal democracy/capitalism acts like an abuser, lashing out and intensifying their abuse in a desperate attempt to make their victims submissive and subservient again.

It's definitely not the sign of a confident and stable system.
