Canadians are super nice. In my experience, people are people everywhere, and there's always a mix of agreeable and disagreeable personalities.
The idea probably just comes from Canadian manners, which are different than American ones in a way that seems "polite" to an American.

TBF a lot of us do; it's our big sport. But, not everybody likes sports. It's kind of like saying all Americans like American football. (Canada's official national sport is actually lacrosse)
I've heard there's a stereotype we're all outdoorsy. I guess in my region everybody does camp, and knows basic camping stuff, but there's also a tendency to start the fire with copious accelerants and a blowtorch. At that point you might as well just bring a space heater and plug it in.

We produce it, but it only goes in recipes that include it. Usually pancakes. I don't know, do Americans eat everything with a hamburger on top?
Edit: Another dumb one at that at least somebody thinks: we all live in igloos. No, sometimes there's no snow. Even in the arctic where it's traditional they don't typically anymore, because that's just a hut made of frozen water. It has no toilet or electricity.

Personal space, less then average social interaction and general "no bullshit" atitude - TRUE.
Other europeans might view general Finnish wibe as being grumpy/upset, altough it isn't.

There was a solid 20 years there where the world actually believed Canadians were environmentalists. Lol!
Soviet Union ancestry. I went away from Soviet Union when Vladimir Putin was a KGB agent in Germany, or maybe a taxi driver in Leningrad. People blame me and my family for things that Putin did.
According to locals, I should be able to resist any cold weather. But I am from southern regions of Soviet Union.

German ancestry here, had some woman call my mom a Neo-Nazi when she found out she was of German descent and almost stopped being friends with her
