That's a really long article to say that the pig was high on duty and died as a result. Everybody knows that fentanyl exposure syndrome is BS but they still can't help but imply the fuck out of it.

When citizens OD and crash, they're treated like the deadly menace that they are. Pigs are protected by fairy tales and moonbeams.

He didn't die by touching it. He died by swerving his car into a tree.

Causation vs correlation.

Fent being the causation and the method of death no matter what the circumstance is the correlation.

You can't overdose on fentanyl by touching it.

The article implies the officer had fentanyl in his system according to the medical examiner. It is a mystery how it was in his system.

On Monday, one piece of the puzzle was revealed โ€” his cause of death was ruled an accident due to the effects of fentanyl, according to the L.A. County medical examiner.

Then the article goes on to explain that no, you cannot absorb fent through skin contact. It's still a mystery as to how the officer had fent in his system. I know you can't absorb fent through the skin. We weren't there, no witnesses can confirm or deny how the officer came into ingesting fentanyl. The moral of my comment is valid.

As for my statement, based on the medical examiner, I am arguing that the causation was fentanyl and the correlation was death by swerving his car into a tree.

He did fentanyl. It's not a mystery.

Unless there's something specific about the skin of cops that allows them to defy science and absorb it.

But exactly how Cano ingested a lethal amount of fentanyl remains unclear.

I suspect he was just doing heroin and his dealer sold him a fentanyl-laced batch. They're covering his ass, and now they get to use his death as fear-mongering Drug War propaganda.

And of course, he died from swerving into a tree, not even his own opioid use directly. He was a fucking cop. He could have easily survived the trip by having his partner drive, calling an ambulance, or any of the infinite other better ideas he could have acted on.

If he made better choices, he'd still be with us. The one thing I thank him for is not doing so; one less fucking cop.

"It is a common misconception that fentanyl can be absorbed through the skin, but it is not true for casual exposure," according to Dr. Daniel Colby, co-medical director for the Department of Emergency Medicine at UC Davis Health. "The one case in which fentanyl can be absorbed through the skin is with a special doctor-prescribed fentanyl skin patch, and even then, it takes hours of exposure."

Like it's in the fucking article ๐Ÿ˜†
