When eating Ethiopian food, you get some kind of stew served on top of a large flat injera bread. You're supposed to scoop the stew and eat it with the bread. But what do you do when you are out of bread and have more stew left? Just eat it with your hand?

Genuinely this -- most Ethiopian restaurants will just give you more for free

But what if you're out of stew then? Eat plain injera?

Then you have to order more Wat obviously.

~~Hot dogs~~ Wat comes in packages of ten, while ~~hot dog buns~~ injera comes in packages of eight. You've got to buy 40 each of the damn things to use them up evenly. It's a conspiracy, I tell ya!

Ask for more injera. It's cheap, they have a lot of it, and they'll probably be happy to provide you with more gratis.

That being said, sure you can just eat it with your hands if it isn't too hot.

Not really relevant to restaurant, but a friend in Ethiopia once mentioned that injera is a bit ritzy for them, they consider it to be a middle class food.

"Give a man injera and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to make injera and you feed him for a lifetime."

This was my solution with naan/roti at least. I wish I had African food available near me.

Normally you get extra bread rolled up and served with it too, in my experience. I suppose you can ask for more, or just use a spoon.

Four naans!? Four? That's insane.

I did not get extra bread or cutlery, but next time I'll ask, thanks
