On Tuesday, Texas held its Democratic and Republican primaries ahead of the upcoming November midterms. Democratic voters chose between Jasmine Crockett, the anti-Trump firebrand congresswoman, and James Talarico, the populist state representative, in an election that attracted national attention. Crockett conceded the race and endorsed Talarico on Wednesday, but only after claiming late on election night that she wasn’t ready to concede because of a voting issue in Dallas.

“We don’t have any of the results because there was a lot of confusion today,” Crockett told supporters at her election-night party: “We were able to keep the polls open, but I can tell you now that people have been disenfranchised.” Crockett received 45.6% of the vote, compared to Talarico’s 53.1%.

Voters in Dallas and Williamson counties faced challenges due to a change in voting location. Voting rights advocates say that the difficulties in voting amount to voter suppression – and they raise concerns about how smoothly the November midterms will go.

When I first moved to Wilco (no one here calls it Williamson County) a decade ago, it was ruby red. It has since gone slightly blue, and the powers that be are not pleased. Texas is fucking with all sorts of voter restrictions, as the Nazi Party realizes its platform is not popular.

...i saw someone kitted-out in all-black tacticool gear + facemask patrolling the public right-of-way in front of my bexar county polling location; not sure whether he was inciting suppression or a counter-protester...

...seems like a weird choice for primary elections unless it was just testing the waters for november...

This is just a taste of what's to come.

If you look at the actions of Trump in the past month, they are not the actions of someone that's concerned about midterms. He has plotted a successful route through midterms and by the time we see it, it'll be too late.
