I guess some of the equivalents for reddit would be r/popheadscirclejerk, r/rupaulsdragrace, and r/queensofleague (to a lesser extent, the subreddits for a lot of female pop stars fall under this umbrella as well).

Here are some spaces that, while I do think are valuable in their own right, are not necessarily what I'm talking about:

  1. General LGBT spaces. These are important for like news and subculture and common experiences; I'm just looking for something a bit more niche (though I do want to be in both).

  2. Masculine queer men's spaces. These correspond to subreddits like r/gaybros, r/askgaybros, etc. I never personally vibed with them, though I understand their necessity for queer men who find themselves on the more masculine end of the gender spectrum.

Also, if this is the incorrect place to post this, please let me know where I can instead. Thanks!

If you're a commie or anarchist you can be as gay as you want anywhere on hexbear.net. (If you're not, you still can be, you'll just get bullied for shitty political takes.) I don't think we have a dedicated space, but we'd probably host a comm.

Lowkey I would be good with that. I think it would be interesting to have a space like this within a larger communist space bc, while I'm ML in my personal politics, many of these existing communities are very much socdem in flavour. I don't mind this bc discussing divas isn't exactly the vanguard party lmao. That said, I think that a commie version of this type of thing also hasn't been done before and would be an interesting experiment!

You know, I don't think there is such, at least not in the way I think you mean.

And it is a community that could use a lemmy representation. It would likely need to be on one of the blahaj instances just because having admins that are overtly queer focused will help keep things from being bombarded.

!femboy@lemmy.blahaj.zone might be an option?

I'm not LGBT myself, but it sounds like lemmy.blahaj.zone should have what you're looking for.
