I'm still best friends with an ex from 7 years ago, it's not awkward at all and us being exes rarely comes up. Her new boyfriend is cool, we enjoy chatting and we text occasionally. My girlfriend and my ex are pretty good friends, they hike and do outdoorsy stuff together without us guys.

My SO and I split when we ended up going to university. Our universities were a 7 hour time difference and we both knew, that just wasn’t going to work. Our last date was updating each other’s dating profiles. She found a guy, and I was at their wedding. Super cool dude and I’m extremely happy for her.

It's only awkward if you let it be. I have a very good friend who is an ex because they wanted to move to another continent and I didn't. Foolish in hindsight but whatever. By total circumstance, I'm now dating one of their ex's. That pairing split because of different emotional desires. We all hang out when we're in the same country, hell, the four of us (our shared ex married after moving) are going to the sauna together in a month or so.

It's all very normal as long as you let it be.

That is wild. Cool that you guys all get along but I think that's a very rare situation

The odd circumstances aren't really relevant, though I admit they're a bit odd.

If you break up on good terms, I think it's healthy to stay friends. This person has valuable insight to who you were at a certain part of your life and unique perspectives.

You gotta be able to be respectful, though, both you and your ex. Don't weaponize the intimate knowledge you have with each other to score points with their friends.

It's only awkward if your balls touch.

What do I do if they touch? Do I ignore it? Do I say sorry? Do I compliment the smoothness of their sack? Am I gay now?

I had unfinished tattoos she was working on. It sucked ass! I do not recommend. 0⭐️'s

Unless you have kids, don't.

I can't answer directly but have seen some instances with a family member, and a stranger. Family member: stayed friends and once in a while them and their spouse have dinner with the ex.

Strangers: i saw a family at the doctors office. Daughter and Mom and Step Dad, then Biological Dad showed up. They all got on really well, and the StepDad and Dad talked about getting together for some BBQ Salmon and beer one day.

Some seem to show a lot of grace, in what could have been awkward dynamics

I think in a situation with a child, the adults have a responsibility to be civil about it for the kid's sake

They do. But I have seen a lot of nasty divorced couples, that made me realize most adults are still kids. 🙁
