Regarding Paraguai their president is an ultraconservative that recently defended Alfredo Stroessner's military dictatorship. Do the math.

Time to get the Triple Alliance on the phone and get the band back together

Assuming Milei doesn't win

I'm not surprised at the results tbh. Interesting to see the UK actually abstained, rather than sided with Israel and the US like usual though.

But I also think your data is not very beautiful, I can barely make out the key in those few pixels.

Yep. UN, the most successful organization at stopping wars.

[-] awwwyissss@lemm.ee 1 points 2 years ago

What alternative do you propose? It's easy to take shots at the UN, but I never see good alternatives proposed.

There are still a few European countries with a moral compass I see. Not a lot tho.

[-] STRIKINGdebate2@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Yeah. It's interesting because it shows how Russia's actions in Ukraine have only pushed Eastern Europe closer to the US.

[-] ShroOmeric@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Next elections in US can change that very fast.

[-] boredtortoise@lemm.ee 1 points 2 years ago

I'm sorry Finland has a far-right cabinet right now

Our foreign affairs minister lied that Finland didn't vote because the resolution doesn't condemn terrorism even though it very plainly does

[-] ShroOmeric@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Shit there goes my optimism.. we live in dark times..

[-] kriz@slrpnk.net 2 points 2 years ago

kind of amazing the US managed to pick up a handful of other countries this time. must have been hitting the diplomacy hard the last few years

Good to see most of the developed world understand the threats terrorism bring to the entire world.
