We really are a psychopathic species. Environmental scientists , NGOs activists and the UN scream for decades that we have to act. That we face certain destruction ranging from persistent and widespread famine to extreme weather destruction. It boils down to permanently reducing the ceiling on earth's carrying capacity for all species including humans. It poses credible risks of near term human extinction. Despite all this, it's business as usual. Iran flexing some minor geopolitical oil muscle and suddenly the world mobilizes like there was a purpose.

I'll take whatever "wins" I can, but sheesh, we're a dim species.

Crisis is a normal kicker enact change. Change without it tends to be quite difficult.
