I run my own with a VPN tunnel, or you can use a public instance to aggregate with others.

every once in a while i get captcha blocked by the search providers. its a little annoying but i can restart the tunnel to get my searches back

Yea, I've scripted restarts for that reason. There is apparently a setting in SearXNG that can help woth that, but I've never figured it out.

I love searxng, but it still feels like using a deadly gun, but with gloves, so I don't touch it directly to be able to say "I don't use guns" 😁
