hello comrades (hexbear.net)

i have made a new account on here instead of piefed.social. i am trying to learn more about communism and marxist-leninism as i think it's the right belief set for me. also, if i was a spammer/troll in the past on other accounts, i sincerely apologize and decided to become a genuine, contributing leftist member of comradeship society.

Welcome.

PieFed is a funny thing. Lemmy was created by communist developers, and PieFed was created as Lemmy clone by an anti-“tankie” developer. A handful of scratched liberals in the fediverse have made deplatforming communists their life’s work.

ROFL! Your infinite patience, cogency, and kindness wins another one!

Haha, I appreciate it, but it really was just a one-off suggestion when she posted in Lemmy.ml's communism community. It was a single comment, nothing more.

Don't feel too bad about having been an insufferable lib. I used to be one too but there was a user on reddit who never gave up extolling the virtues of China and Communism and after years of my bad faith arguments and their making new accounts because they got banned, reality finally broke through. I never got to tell them thanks for not giving up on me.

Welcome comrade :D

I personally started with Parenti and Lenin. State and revolution by Lenin and Blackshirts and Reds by Parenti are very accessable.

Look up yellow parenti as well on youtube

Hakim is a pretty decent Youtuber on the marxism leninism

This is a great start.

There's a lot to learn, especially to get through the years of propaganda we were all raised with in neoliberal countries. But good on making the effort!

Welcome! Everyone is really nice, disagreement can be blunt, but that facilitates open and honest discussion, imo.

Hello!

"All sinners have a future, all saints have a past." We almost all had the lib stage.

This community is a good place for learning.

Welcome comrade! ✊️

Genuinely, the discussions happening here are a very good intro to compare/contrast to narratives that get thrown at people from imperialist and bourgeoisie media, on top of everything else. It's also got many links to good sources of info on leftist thought and alternative perspectives.

Also - not sure if others have mentioned, but sometimes it can be difficult maintaining optimism when learning about the real world through a communist lense; laying bare the countless injustices and vitriolic, grotesque reactionary behavior of those who oppress us and how they do so can be a daunting task to open your eyes to all at once, so don't forget your own mental health on your journey.

A better world is possible!

Beware, people will push you to stick a label on yourself. They'll want you to be a tankie, a trot, a dengist, an accelerationist, even an anarchist; or, accuse you of being a tankie, a trot, a dengist, an accelerationist, even an anarchist, if what you say is counter to the label they stuck on themselves. They want you to think it's a difference of philosophy, but it is really just a difference in methodology, as we all want the same thing. You do you, as long as you maintain the end goal of a proletariat revolution.

Discussion Community for fellow Marxist-Leninists and other Marxists.

Rules for /c/communism

Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.

  1. No non-marxists

This subreddit is here to facilitate discussion between marxists.

There are other communities aimed at helping along new communists. This community isn't here to convert naysayers to marxism.

If you are a member of the police, armed forces, or any other part of the repressive state apparatus of capitalist nations, you will be banned.

  1. No oppressive language

Do not attempt to justify your use of oppressive language.

Doing this will almost assuredly result in a ban. Accept the criticism in a principled manner, edit your post or comment accordingly, and move on, learning from your mistake.

We believe that speech, like everything else, has a class character, and that some speech can be oppressive. This is why speech that is patriarchal, white supremacist, cissupremacist, homophobic, ableist, or otherwise oppressive is banned.

TERF is not a slur.

  1. No low quality or off-topic posts

Posts that are low-effort or otherwise irrelevant will be removed.

This is not a place to engage in meta-drama or discuss random reactionaries on lemmy or anywhere else.

This includes memes and circlejerking.

This includes most images, such as random books or memorabilia you found.

We ask that amerikan posters refrain from posting about US bourgeois politics. The rest of the world really doesn’t care that much.

  1. No basic questions about marxism

Posts asking entry-level questions will be removed.

Questions like “What is Maoism?” or “Why do Stalinists believe what they do?” will be removed, as they are not the focus on this forum.

  1. No sectarianism

Marxists of all tendencies are welcome here.

Refrain from sectarianism, defined here as unprincipled criticism. Posts trash-talking a certain tendency or marxist figure will be removed. Circlejerking, throwing insults around, and other pettiness is unacceptable.

If criticisms must be made, make them in a principled manner, applying Marxist analysis.

The goal of this subreddit is the accretion of theory and knowledge and the promotion of quality discussion and criticism.
