disagreement with one’s biological sex, is sinful and offensive to God

"Intersex people don't exist. Stop making up words. If a baby has multiple sex charistics then OF COURSE surgical intervention is needed to force a binary choice. God doesn't make mistakes, but sometimes he does a whoopsie."

These people refuse to understand human biology because their goddamn Bible has already told them everything they want to know. Yet they have the gall to laughingly repeat "iT's bAsiC BiolOgY" without a clue to their ignorance.

[-] toasteecup@lemmy.world 52 points 1 year ago

I'm pretty sure they haven't even read the Bible at this point.

[-] Drivebyhaiku@lemmy.world 15 points 1 year ago

Reading and comprehension are two different things. They have likely read the bible. If they believe in hell and quote Leviticus as though it represents Christian law then they have failed to comprend it.

[-] LemmysMum@lemmy.world 15 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

They had their stories preached to them by their pastor, they haven't read shit. 54% of American adults read below a 6th grade comprehension level. These people operate on their own fan fiction and head canon.

[-] ArtVandelay@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Geez, that link is damning.

[-] killeronthecorner@lemmy.world 27 points 1 year ago

God doesn't make mistakes, but sometimes he does a whoopsie.

They think this sounds quippy like they're in a sitcom, whereas really they sound like an under-educated five year old

[-] MagicShel@programming.dev 26 points 1 year ago

God doesn't shit, but sometimes he does a poo poo.

[-] CosmicTurtle@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

I want so badly what they mean by woopsie. Like....if God is capable of an woopsie, then he is not infallible.

So....is he God or not?

[-] LemmysMum@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

If God is infallible we'd all believe in him, ipso facto, he doesn't exist.

[-] NotMyOldRedditName@lemmy.world 24 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I can't tell if that intersex quote is real or not.

The crazy has become so normal i can't be sure.

[-] moistclump@lemmy.world 19 points 1 year ago

I actually doubt the Bible goes into gender identity. It’s all pure bigotry.

[-] deft@ttrpg.network 39 points 1 year ago

It doesn't but Jesus does he's pretty clear he says

'be fuckin nice to people you shit heads"

i may be paraphrasing but that is what he's trying to get across

[-] moistclump@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago
[-] deft@ttrpg.network 9 points 1 year ago

literally we gotta take him back tbh

dude was a highly sarcastic political activist who was mocking the roman emperor and got killed for it.

when he said drink my blood, eat my flesh. dude was tongue in cheek mocking the cults at the time being so dramatic and also embracing this identity that Jewish people are evil and use curses and blood magic shit.

I don't remember it being prominent but there are a shitload of bizarre rules.

[-] remotelove@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 year ago

“If your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away.”

If masturbation is a sin, there should be a fuck ton of one handed christians out there.... Just sayin'.

[-] uphillbothways@kbin.social 11 points 1 year ago

If they are going to believe in a god but then deny, abuse and destroy nature, which could only be thought of as their god's expression in physical form, doesn't that make these people blasphemous heretics by their own definition? Unfortunately, these "religious" fucks are just liars who in reality think they know better than whatever god they act like they believe in. They'll abuse and destroy anything in their path because to them noone and nothing has actual value. The only important thing to them is their own imagined version of the divine.

[-] AlwaysNowNeverNotMe@kbin.social 8 points 1 year ago

People seem to think religious people do things because their religion demands them. That is not how this works.

Their id demands it. Their ego demands it. Then in the cold light of morning. They had to do it. For God.

[-] Son_of_dad@lemmy.world 101 points 1 year ago

Conservatives always link bestiality and homosexuality, because they see gay people as no more than animals, subhuman. So of course a subhuman would just fuck everything else subhuman, so they make that fucked up link that having sex with another consenting adult, somehow means you're gearing up to fuck animals.

They or his wife wants to fuck dogs and is projecting.

[-] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 60 points 1 year ago

No, it's because they view sex as a relationship between a man and his sex object.

[-] Poayjay@lemmy.world 18 points 1 year ago

It also helps paint homosexuality as some perverted kink

[-] 4am@lemm.ee 15 points 1 year ago

This is also why they have a problem with trans people. They think people want to “wear a sexual kink in public”.

Trans people don’t do it because they get off on it.

This is how you funnel money to people in government positions. Their spouses give "talks" across a "wide variety of timely topics" for money.

[-] SwingingTheLamp@midwest.social 38 points 1 year ago

TL;DR; I'll just fill in the punchline from all of the previous, similar news articles: Mike Johnson and his wife are self-loathing sexual deviants. Got it.

[-] knowledgephoenix@lemmy.world 37 points 1 year ago

I read the title and thought “wow that’s unexpectedly cool of her to proactively go after terrible homophobic websites and get them taken down somehow…“. Then I read a little bit more and realized it was HER website. Of course.

[-] crimroy@sopuli.xyz 4 points 1 year ago

THANK YOU for explaining!!! I didn't read the article (heh) and I was like, "what the hell is with all these comments? Who are these people???"

[-] eran_morad@lemmy.world 25 points 1 year ago

Bet you this guy gets caught in a wide stance at some point.

[-] charliespider@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago

Like simultaneously pro-life AND pro-NRA?

😉

[-] squiblet@kbin.social 21 points 1 year ago

"Wide Stance" is a reference to the long-time R senator from Idaho who was busted by a detective at the Minneapolis airport while apparently looking to have anonymous gay sex in a restroom. It seems the way guys would signal their interest to each other was by playing footsie between the stalls, and Craig's excuse was he is a 'wide guy' which somehow turned into 'wide stance'.

Also, check out the recipe he submitted to the Congress Cooks! cook book (which was really hilariously horrible, btw, it's gone now but used to be on a site called virtualcities):
https://dinnerisserved1972.com/2012/10/03/wiener-wednesday-super-tuber/

The Super Tuber. Most homoerotic entree I have ever imagined... you are supposed to take a potato, cut a hole through it, grease it up, then shove a hot dog through the middle.

[-] morphballganon@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

The show Boston Legal has a bit about this. William Shatner's character is trying to take a dump and gets accused of soliciting gay sex. This is also the episode where his phone makes the Star Trek communicator whistle.

[-] Dkarma@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

No like "just asking for some tp" under a stall divider.

If you're going to be homo- or transphobic (por qué no los dos?) I way you need to own that shit. This conservative whitewashing of their closely held beliefs when the light suddenly shines on them is doubly disgusting.

[-] just_another_person@lemmy.world 23 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I believe that's part of the Republican mantra though. Say a bunch of awful things, then immediately deny that you said it. To what effect, I have no clue.

[-] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 10 points 1 year ago

They’re testing the fences. This is how fascism creeps in mostly under the radar.

They say something egregious and gauge the response. If it gets too much backlash, they dial it back a bit, but each outrageous move normalises fascism a bit more until people are unknowingly accepting things that would have been unthinkable a few years before.

By the time people notice, discourse is so broken it’s nearly impossible to go back without seismic (and often deadly) social change.

[-] squiblet@kbin.social 5 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

They made the point to the people they wanted to (could it be one of their favorite accusations ....virtue signaling?) and then claim they removed it because they're being persecuted by WOKEys and the Bad Liberal Media.

[-] AlwaysNowNeverNotMe@kbin.social 5 points 1 year ago

Idiots with either opinion will flock to you to be contrarians.

If she actually believed her own bullshit then she would be GLAD that she has a more prominent platform from which to spread her beliefs.

[-] lingh0e@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 year ago

Seriously. Deeply held religions convictions my ass.

[-] xc2215x@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago

Being gay is nothing like those two. Glad it is gone.

[-] Semi-Hemi-Demigod@kbin.social 10 points 1 year ago

Next up: Conservatives call Mike Johnson a groomer for his wife taking down site comparing homosexuality to bestiality, incest

[-] andrew_bidlaw@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 year ago

Christians are animals lmao.

[-] MagicShel@programming.dev 3 points 1 year ago

Why does this guy look like someone asked an AI to create a real life Alfred E. Neuman with glasses? It's uncanny.
