Hasn't been sci-fi since Obama.

We are continuing to be rapidly on track for this 7 minute film from 2017 becoming a reality, and I fucking hate it. It feels inevitable at this point. In many ways, we are already there. Creating that video was certainly one of the worst uses of the lathe, I've got to say. What a time to be alive (for now).

yeah that seems like the natural endpoint for drone warfare, once onboard intelligence gets good enough to track people in real time, that's totally where this is going

I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:

What percentage of the US population will support killbots being unleashed domestically?

The population didn't even tolerate the major ICE operations, including local petty-bourgeoisie whose support lended huge credibility and success to the strikes that resisted it.

If killbots are unleashed I kinda think even the average person is gonna support organised violent resistance. Am I wrong? Surely americans aren't that far gone? The average left leaning american already appears to support adventurism including total indifference to violent adventurism.

The average american will hold up a funny sign and/or a dildo to the reaper drone before it massacres them and their family

[-] Test_Tickles@hexbear.net 6 points 6 days ago

the liberal class will be outraged only until the drones wear nameplates for proper identification

[-] barrbaric@hexbear.net 4 points 6 days ago

Minimum 30% will support it so long as they think it's only being used on their enemies.

20% will be unsure.

it's fun to skip to the end and see that the call to action is just vote

[-] PurrLure@hexbear.net 2 points 6 days ago

You better watch out or else I'm gonna vote so hard.

[-] Blakey@hexbear.net 25 points 1 week ago

Never even occurs to them to ask wtf is wrong with their system that the opposition lost to that. No, there's just a group of Bad People who you need to fight by voting for Good People.

[-] SevenSkalls@hexbear.net 3 points 6 days ago

Well people didn't vote well enough obviously. We just need to convince them to do better by shaming and yelling at them until they vote right. The system is fine, it's just the people who are wrong.
